Renew Your Skin With Advanced Fractional Laser Technology

Some skin concerns just don’t budge, no matter what you put on them. Fine lines, old acne scars, and sun damage that’s been sitting there for years, topical products can only do so much. At Vivid Skin, Hair & Laser Center in Phoenix, we use the Lumenis AcuPulse® system, performed by an RN Injector, to actually get into the skin and change what’s happening beneath the surface.

What Is CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

CO2 laser resurfacing uses fractional laser energy to go through the damaged skin layers, while at the same time pushing collagen and rebuilding deeper down.

It’s not only a surface kind of thing, more like the laser makes those tiny, controlled “injuries” inside the skin that signal your body to kick off repairing with fresh cells. Then the collagen rebuilds, and the skin that returns actually looks and feels more improved than before.

Over time, patients tend to notice:

  • Smoother and more refined texture
  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improvement in acne scars and surface irregularities
  • More even skin tone
  • Overall, brighter and healthier-looking skin

It’s the skin actually renewing itself from the inside out.

Why We Use Lumenis AcuPulse®

Not every CO2 laser does the same thing. The Lumenis AcuPulse® is a system we trust because it gives us real control over depth, intensity, and how aggressively we treat, depending on what your skin actually needs.

That matters a lot when someone comes in with acne scarring or years of sun damage. A one-size approach doesn’t work for that.

What this system does well:

  • Fractional resurfacing for safer healing
  • Precise control over depth and intensity
  • Customizable settings for different skin types
  • Strong collagen stimulation with reduced downtime
  • Consistent, predictable results

This level of control is especially important when treating concerns like acne scarring, sun damage, or bigger textural changes.

What CO2 Laser Helps Improve

Most people who come in for this have already tried the gentler options and want something with more behind it.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth sort of get softer. The CO2 laser reaches places where creams just can’t.
  • Acne scarring improves from underneath, as fresh collagen fills in, and the top layer slowly levels out.
  • Sun damage and pigmentation fade because the damaged skin sheds, and the better, healthier skin starts showing through.
  • Uneven texture eases, bumpy, or rough skin feels quite different after the healing process.
  • Enlarged pores become less visible as the skin next to them tightens back up again.
  • Early skin laxity firms up, as collagen rebuilds in the deeper layers over time.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Before anything begins, we take a close look at your skin and talk through what you’re hoping to improve.

On the day itself:

  • Skin is thoroughly cleansed.
  • Numbing cream is applied so you’re comfortable.
  • The Lumenis AcuPulse® works section by section across the treatment area.
  • Fractional energy goes into targeted zones while the surrounding skin stays intact.

The laser works by creating microscopic treatment zones in the skin, which trigger natural regeneration while leaving surrounding tissue intact to support faster healing.

Sessions usually run anywhere from 90 to 120 minutes, depending on how much area we’re covering. Most people describe the sensation as warm and prickly — noticeable, but nothing that most patients find difficult to sit through.

Downtime & Healing Journey

CO2 laser resurfacing involves a short but noticeable healing period as the skin begins its renewal process.

Right after treatment, expect:

  • Redness, similar to a sunburn
  • Some swelling in the first 24 to 72 hours
  • Tightness and sensitivity in the treated area

In the first week, the skin will likely start to flake and peel as the old damaged layers shed and fresh skin comes through underneath.

Most of the visible healing wraps up within 5 to 10 days, but the improvement doesn’t stop there. Collagen keeps rebuilding for months after, and the skin genuinely keeps getting better long after you’ve healed.

Aftercare during this period matters, including gentle cleansing, keeping the skin hydrated, and being serious about sun protection.

Results & Skin Transformation

Results don’t show up overnight, and that’s actually a good sign. What you’re seeing is your skin doing real work, healing, rebuilding, and coming back better.

As that process plays out, patients typically notice:

  • Smoother, more refined texture
  • Brighter and more even complexion
  • Softer fine lines
  • Less visible acne scarring
  • A healthier, more refreshed look overall

The collagen remodeling that happens in the deeper layers can keep producing visible changes for several months after treatment. That’s not a side effect, it’s the point.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

CO2 laser tends to be a good fit for people who:

  • Want real improvement in skin texture or scarring
  • Are you seeing early or moderate signs of aging
  • Have sun-damaged or uneven skin
  • Have already tried lighter treatments without enough results
  • Are in good general skin health and can follow aftercare properly

We go over all of this in the consultation. If a CO2 laser isn’t the right call for your skin, we’ll tell you that and point you toward something that is.

Why Choose Vivid Skin, Hair & Laser Center

CO2 laser treatments here are done by a trained RN Injector who understands both the clinical and aesthetic side of what good skin looks like. It’s not just about running a laser over someone’s face; it’s about knowing what to do with it.

We stay focused on:

  • Safe, controlled treatment settings
  • Plans built around your specific skin
  • Results that look natural, not altered
  • Keeping you comfortable throughout
  • Medical-grade technology and protocols

The goal is never to change your face. It’s to give you back the skin quality you had, or better.

FAQs

Most folks are mostly past the worst part within a week or so. Full healing takes a bit longer, though, so it’s not instant, but you also won’t be stuck out of life “forever” or something like that.

We numb the skin first, so it stays pretty manageable. Most people say it feels warm and a little prickly, uncomfortable, but not to the point of unbearable.

You’ll usually spot a change fairly early. The bigger, noticeable improvement comes over the next weeks and months, because the collagen keeps rebuilding, step by step.

For most people, it’s just one. If your skin reacts a certain way, we might bring up a second session later on, but it’s not automatically required.

That’s exactly why we do the consultation. We review your skin carefully beforehand, then we recommend what fits.
